Choosing a Job

Choosing a job requires a lot of soul searching and self analysis to ensure a happy and productive work life.

1 Make a list of your strengths.

2 Ask others about your talents and get their views. Friends and family members may see things about you that you do not see.

3 Ask yourself the following questions. “What am I interested in?” “Where do my passions lie?” “Where are my talents?” “What makes me happy?”  How much does the job pay? How many hours will I be working? What is the travel time to my workplace? Do I want to work as an employee or should I start my own home business? What are the expenses for supplies, insurance, clothing, transportation, day care, etc? How will my job affect my family life with my children and my spouse? Can I see myself doing this job for a long time?

4 Remember that we only have 24 hours a day. Spending your time in the most beneficial way possible should be your goal.

How to Be Kind to Others So You Can Live With Yourself

As our world has become fast paced, goal oriented and stressful, we may have forgotten how to be kind to others. This not only takes a toll on others but also us.

1 Be sympathetic to the needs of others first.

2 Put your needs second. Be kind to yourself but always think of your friends and family before you.

3 Take action. Think “What can I do that will help the person to achieve their goal?” Do whatever it takes. Motivate yourself in either direction so you have a reason to be nice. Did this person help you out studying that one time? DId this person help guide you through your parents divorce? Focus on that and remember why.

4 Do whatever it takes to further their cause.

5 Continue working in this direction so you can accomplish the task.

6 Feel good about yourself for you have not taken advantage of anyone and you have promoted another's welfare.

7 Know that you have been an honest, caring person and can live at peace with yourself. Now you can sleep well.

Say No to a Power War

Some people don't want to be reasonable. They just want war with you. This is how to handle these times.

1 Don't get angry, don't cry, and don't plead you case. It's what the person wants you to do and it’s a waste of your time. The person does not want to be reasonable.

2 Remember, the person is looking for a fight. Do not fight the person, walk away from a fight. It takes two boxers to get into the ring to have a match. Don't get into the ring.

3 Don’t get angry. Anger is a sign of weakness so walk away from anger and the fight. You should submit to their will whenever possible.

4 You must stand strong and not participate. Say nothing at all. Verbal fighting can only occur if you fight back.

5 When you refuse to fight, only then can the other person see that they are being unreasonable and that you are not.

Shriners Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, and more...

There are famous clowns like Patch Adams, Shriners and Ronald McDonald House that provide free medical care for sick children. These charities help kids get the care they need when other doors have been closed.

1. Select. Select the right hospital. Shriner’s hospitals only help for the following problems: orthopedics, burns, cleft palate, and spinal cord injury. Another charity may be better for your child. The Ronald McDonald house provides limited cost housing for families of children who are seriously ill. Patch Adams helped open the door to the Gesundheit! Institute (German for 'health!') in West Virginia and provides Non-Profit, Free for Patients, health care. The Ronald McDonald care mobile travels here and abroad and provides dental care and dental care education. Tooth decay cause more kids to be sick then asthma.

2. Apply. Turn in all your information and wait for a call. There may be a small wait depending on the problem. If you are rejected ask your doctor for a letter, they may accept it with an explanation letter.

3. Wait for a qualified doctor. Do not worry about the quality of the care. These are top quality doctors and researchers who are not working for a pay check but are working to help kids.

4. Hospital locations. Go on line to find the locations of hospitals that are nearest to you. These and other organizations have hospitals located across the nation.

5 Take the child to visit the hospital. Be prepared for laughter for these are happy places. The kids are actually happy to be there.

6. Grateful attitude. Be thankful for the love the doctors have for the children. No kinder doctors can be found on earth than at these hospitals. Patch Adams travels to other countries. Doctors dressed as clowns volunteer to help out in other countries.

7. Help. Make the choice to help in the work yourself. Contact one of the groups; they have many ways you can help out. You could help in a hospital, contribute money to a group or hire a Shriner clown as they put the money they earn into supporting a hospital.

8. All should be grateful for clown hospitals and the loving care they provide for children. They deserve our thanks and our support with our time and our money. Do as Patch Adams says"Now please go serve the world".
